Purpose of Role:
- Provide strategic insights and analysis to support decision-making processes within the organisation and to the leadership team
- Involve conducting comprehensive research, analysing market trends, evaluating competitive landscapes, and identifying opportunities for organic and inorganic growth and optimisation
- Screen and evaluate potential M&A and BD opportunities
Critical Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSEQ procedures
- Demonstrable safety leadership and thorough working knowledge and experience of behavioural safety techniques
- Conduct themselves at all times in accordance with Harbour Energy Values and Business Principles
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:
- Scout the wider industry by reviewing market reports, political reports, and public data and information, bringing in external data and highlighting trends and signals, providing recommendations for actions to management
- Perform strategic analysis – undertake portfolio analysis and identify and propose actions that address key economic, financing and investor issues
- Build knowledge of global competitor landscape and generate potential M&A/BD opportunities which align with Harbour corporate strategy
- Bring broad strategic analysis to support M&A, Planning & Economics, operations, investor relations and other teams
- Assist as needed in industry strategic and peer group benchmarking, developing actions to support ongoing corporate strategic reviews
- Assist in the preparation of various board and other senior-level strategic decision-making materials
- Any other reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager
Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, engineering or a related field
- Experience of economic modelling and/or Microsoft Excel
- Strategic mindset and approach with an understanding of strategy development, including definition and execution
- Solid understanding of the energy industry value chain. Experience in peer analysis and benchmarking
- Experience reviewing market reports, political reports, and public data and information, and supporting Senior Management/ VP level with materials and briefings
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional team and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and anticipate requests, prioritising tasks often with short notice or critical requests
- Strong communication with the ability to effectively convey complex information to the relevant team at senior leaders
- Timely and high-quality delivery at all times
