Purpose of Role: 

To design, lead and deliver Treasury Accounting projects, and to develop and take ownership of the Treasury Accounting controls and processes framework, and support existing Treasury workstreams whilst the Company continues to grow. 

 

Critical Responsibilities:

Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures. 

 

Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:

Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.

 

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:

Other general day-to-day activities including:

  • Provide application support for financial instrument modelling and journals for SAP, including but not limited to interest accruals, mark-to-market valuations, and debt restructuring
  • Ownership of Treasury Management System / SAP GL interface operations
  • Management and continual improvement of the ongoing hedge accounting documentation and effectiveness testing covering foreign exchange, interest rate swaps and cross currency swaps etc.
  • Provide weighted average cost of borrowing information to Group for interest capitalisation purposes
  • Support and review Expected Credit Loss calculations from business units
  • Performing Treasury specific monthly/quarterly/annual Harbour group reporting and provisions of notes disclosures
  • Management of Treasury intercompany balances and related loan documentation
  • Support Business Units with Treasury accounting entries as required
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Provide input into the ongoing development of a foreign exchange and interest rate hedging framework 
  • Support the Treasury function on its day-to-day operations
  • Reconciliation of banks’ cash accounts for ICE exchange activity
  • Support projects re debt capital markets and M&A activity, developing expected credit loss framework etc.
  • Ensure Treasury Standards are understood and adhered to

 

Design, lead and deliver Treasury accounting projects including, but not limited to:

  • TMS accounting module implementation including TMS / SAP S4 HANA GL interface development (project currently on hold)
  • Design and implement a robust hedge accounting framework, including associated hedge effectiveness testing
  • Represent Treasury Accounting on Tax restructuring projects
  • Development of Treasury Accounting controls/procedures/framework

 

Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:

  • Recognised qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
  • Extensive, proven Treasury Accounting experience, with Treasury project/ transformation experience 
  • Solid understanding of financials instruments i.e. IAS 32, IFRS 7/9, in particular significant practical experience of hedge accounting. 
  • Experience of using a Treasury Management System is preferred e.g. Refinitiv, Integrity, Coupa
  • Experience of SoX controls environment preferrable.
  • Strong MS Office skills; Excel (mandatory), PowerPoint and Word
  • Highly motivated, excellent communication skills and a confident decision maker
  • Ability to meet demanding deadlines and adapt quickly to changing business needs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to develop good working relationships (internal functions & external stakeholders)
  • High level of personal integrity and professionalism
  • Self-starter, ability to work effectively as an individual and within a team
