Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for internal controls management and reporting.
Critical Responsibilities (MAE/MATTE/HSES*):
Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures
Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:
Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:
Internal controls
- Support the business to develop and maintain a robust internal controls framework, in line with UK Corporate Governance Code requirements, ensuring appropriate governance over policies, risk assessment, RACMs, ELCs, ITGCs, effectiveness testing, monitoring/remediation/reporting
- Ensure compliance with legal and FRC regulatory requirements and generally accepted frameworks e.g. COSO, 3 Lines of Defense model
- Support delivery of controls training, including required methodology and expectations, together with an ongoing promotion and development of a value adding controls culture across the business
- Provide robust and high-quality reporting to management and Audit & Risk Committee
- Assist with the design and implementation of a GRC solution for the enlarged Group, focused on the business processes and Group reporting requirements
- Drive automation of systems deployment of controls and for reporting where possible
Critical Skills*, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:
- University degree
- Professional accounting qualification
- Experience in financial reporting within a multinational company and/or Accountancy firm, with a strong preference for experience in the oil and gas sector
- Strong internal control experience
- Proven track record of managing relationships with key stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain, understand and summarise business processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Enjoys challenging status quo and looking for continuous improvement in delivering better business results
