JOB OBJECTIVE / JOB EXPECTATIONS  

To define, manage and implement the Health, Safety, Environment and Security strategy for the activities of the Business Unit. Ensure the compliance of internal standards and legislation along with developing a culture which values and promote widely the Health, Safety and the protection of Environment.

 

TASKS AND SCOPE OF WORK / MAIN RESPONSIBILITY AREAS.

 

Primary Tasks:

 

  • Promote a company culture where HSES is an integrated part of the business.
  • Ensure that the annual HSES Objectives program is executed.
  • Perform and collaborate in the HSES Assessments for every Decision Gate of projects.
  • Lead and perform audits as required for our HSES Management System, assets, locations and processes
  • Implement and maintain the continuous improvement process of the HSES Management System.
  • Ensure Risks Assessments and MOC process is duly followed for managing change on HSES matters to ensure proper risk mitigation action are identified and implemented
  • Monitor HSES Legal compliance with identified requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain emergency preparedness strategies and requirements, ensuring an efficient and robust emergency response organization through regular exercises and training activities.
  • Ensure all incidents and accidents are investigated thoroughly and mitigations actions implemented to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor Lagging indicators as well as the proper treatment/closure of HSES events
  • Ensure to capture lessons learnt and monitor the corrective actions closure.
  • Prepare and monitor the HSES yearly budget.
  • Build and implement training programs for the Asset employees, in regards of their competencies, needs and risks they are exposed to.

Other duties associated with the HSES function, as directed by Supervisor or Manager.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Education

  • College Degree – B.S. Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Process Safety or equivalent HSEQ related field.

Professional Experience

  • Ten (10 +) years of experience in HSES positions in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Offshore working experience is required.
  • Have being in a Leader/Manager/Supervisor position for over 5 years.

 

TECHNICAL AND NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS

Technical Skills

  • HSEQ Management system knowledge (ISO 9k, 14k & 45k)
  • In-depth knowledge of operational activities and Hazard identification, assessment and control (risk management methodologies)
  • Occupational health & hygiene assessments, monitoring and management strategies.
  • Emergency preparedness knowledge (Developing, executing and assessing competence of ERT members)
  • Proficient knowledge of in-country and international HSES standards for O&G (Knowledge, interpretation and execution)
  • Sound understanding of Project Management principals
  • Proficient in audit planning and execution
  • Incident / Accident Investigation techniques.

 

Non-Technical Skills

  • Functional, business, industry supervisory expertise
  • Strong personnel management qualities / leading and developing self and others to maximize their potential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate in an agile environment, working in cross-functional and multicultural teams
  • Strong Conflict Resolution skills
