Purpose of Role:    

  • The Enterprise Management Systems (EMS) Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and implementation of technical and business change within our EMS ecosystem (comprising our SAP S4 Hana digital core, interfaces and associated peripheral applications).
  • Collaborating with the EMS Delivery and Transformation Manager to ensure your projects are delivered to a high standard, in line with Harbour Energy’s project delivery framework and IT architecture standards.
  • Responsible for building strong relationships with business stakeholders, cross functional teams and supplier resources in the EMS space, supporting the EMS Delivery and Transformation Manager in EMS governance forums as required.

  • Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures

 

Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:    

  • Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required

 

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:

  • Under minimal direction, leads project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities for EMS projects, following the agreed IS project delivery framework · 
  • Works closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure scope and requirements are accurate and captured in the appropriate project deliverables.
  • Determines, monitors, and reviews all project economics to include costs, operational budgets, resourcing requirements, and risks. 
  • Contributes to project estimation process for budget and resourcing across Harbour Energy suppliers and technical teams.
  • Monitors and reports the progress and status of their EMS project activities, including supplier performance.
  • Ensures adherence to regulatory and company standards, in particular ensuring changes delivered within our EMS ecosystem support Harbour Energy’s governance, risk and controls framework.
  • Controls project risks and issues taking appropriate steps to escalate challenges with the appropriate IS and business stakeholders.
  • Ensures technical change is implemented following Harbour Energy’s  change control process, supported with high quality change communications.
  • Supports the Portfolio and Demand team in their execution of the annual demand request process.
  • Maintains a good level of awareness on emerging EMS technologies, solutions and services.

 

Critical Skills:

  • Strong SAP Project Management experience with successful track record of delivering multiple S/4 HANA projects.
  • Strong business domain knowledge, including Finance, Supply Chain and / or Work Management & Operations process awareness.
  • Working across vendors, project team and wider IS team to deliver well designed SAP and integrated solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Knowledge and awareness of SAP ERP solutions roadmap, with exposure to S/4 HANA integration with other SAP products such as Signavio, SuccessFactors, Fieldglass, Ariba and Business Technology Platform. Knowledge of Maximo Application Suite and Basware Invoice Management preferred. 
  • Proven knowledge of adherence to PMO standards, delivery methods, tools. 
  • Energy / Oil & Gas industry experience preferred.
  • Experience of managing IS technical and 3rd party supplier teams in a cross functional organisation. 
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the project objectives, inspire and motivate staff, and maintain alignment with IS and business strategy. Ability to present to senior and mid management stakeholder groups and chair meetings.
  • Ability to manage a broad group of stakeholders, across Business and IS teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain and “sell” the programme goals and objectives to the stakeholders and to technical leadership.
  • Strong business acumen, including industry and domain-specific knowledge of the organisation and its business units. Familiarity with industry trends and innovation, and how other organisations are using them to drive digital business.
  • Conflict resolution, influencing and negotiation experience and skills in an environment with high competition for resources.
  • Strong project planning and execution skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project Online desirable.
  • Ability to develop projects and deliver them against financial and resource constraints.
  • Proven track record with the use of reporting tools to monitor project activities and analyse project performance.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles including Waterfall and Agile.
  • Qualifications in one of the following project delivery methodology or frameworks and experience of others, such as:
    • PMI standards
    • PMP
    • PRINCE2
    • Agile
    • Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)
