Purpose of Role:
- The objective of this position is to provide support for a key project for the KAN organization, which is operated by Harbour Energy Mexico.
- This role is expected to carry out activities related to the preparation, control, and monitoring of budgets, covering both internal needs and reporting requirements for partners and authorities. The position will also be responsible for designing and tracking purchase orders and invoicing.
- Additionally, the role involves close interaction with internal areas such as Operations and Finance, as well as external parties including auditors and partners.
Critical Responsibilities (MAE/MATTE/HSES*):
- Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures.
Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:
- Provide support to the Operations and Finance areas on matters related to Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of budgets under different frameworks and contract types (internal guidelines and cost eligibility criteria).
- Monitoring Opex and Capex in line with approved budgets, including inventory tracking.
- Preparing explanations and analyses of budget variances.
- Managing and maintaining WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) in SAP.
- Preparing and monitoring partner billing.
- Validating partners’ account statements.
- Supporting internal and external audits, including those by partners and authorities.
- Assisting in the definition and follow-up of purchase orders.
- Reviewing field documentation and invoices.
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Acting as a liaison between different departments to ensure:
- Cost recording complies with financial reporting standards.
- Cost eligibility is aligned with applicable regulations.
Critical Skills*, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:
Education (Required Educational Level)
- B.Sc. Accounting Degree or equivalent.
Professional Experience (Required experience in a clearly definable field of activity and total years)
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- Experience in Monitoring Opex and Capex
Technical Skills (Special Technical knowledge: As: Software. Law knowledge, standards knowledge, etc.)
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SAP.
- Understanding of production sharing contracts.
- Knowledge of legal aspects of contract management and contractual requirements with partners.
Non-Technical Skills (It refers to soft skills: i.e. leadership, management skills, negotiation, communication, etc.)
- Flexibility and adaptability to change.
- Knowledge in economics, cost analysis, and financial evaluations of procurement pricing, cost estimation, and budget preparation.
- Familiarity with the legal aspects of contract management.
- Tolerance to stress and ability to work effectively in a team environment
