Since its creation in 2014, Harbour has grown to become one of the world’s largest and most geographically diverse independent oil and gas companies. Today, Harbour is producing between 475,000 and 485,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day with significant production in Norway, the UK, Germany, Argentina and North Africa. Harbour benefits from competitive operating costs and resilient margins, and a broad set of growth options including near-infrastructure opportunities in Norway, unconventional scalable opportunities in Argentina and conventional offshore projects in Mexico and Indonesia. With low GHG emissions intensity and a leading CO2 storage position in Europe, Harbour remains committed to producing oil and gas safely and responsibly to help meet the world’s energy needs. Harbour is headquartered in London with approximately 5,000 staff and contractors across its operations and offices.
Ours is an inclusive workplace where individuals can bring their whole selves to their job and feel recognised for the value they add. We are committed to creating a genuinely inclusive and supportive working environment to ensure everyone has a positive experience at work.
At Harbour Energy, we aim to recruit, retain and promote our people based on their unique skills, regardless of race, gender or background. We need excellent people to help shape and develop the future of our company. Could this be you?
If so, we want to hear from you.
Purpose of Role:
· Develop and deliver subsurface geological studies and 3D static models supporting development planning, well placement and reservoir characterisation across the BU assets.
· Integrate seismic, well log and core data into coherent geological interpretations and support hydrocarbon volumetric estimation.
· Provide operational geology support including well initiation, drilling follow-up and post-well evaluation as required by project priorities. · Contribute to internal technical reviews, Peer Reviews and Peer Assists, and represent the discipline in JV partner technical meetings.
Critical Responsibilities (MAE/MATTE/HSES):
· Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures.
Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:
· Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:
Subsurface Studies and 3D Static Modelling
· Prepare subsurface planning and geological studies for development projects, including conceptual geological models, depositional environment interpretation and reservoir framework definition.
· Develop and interpret cross-sections, structural maps and facies maps integrating seismic and well data.
· Build 3D structural and facies models supporting well placement and dynamic simulation work.
· Review 3D geological models for development and appraisal wells with the asset Subsurface Manager and the G&G Manager.
Well and Reservoir Characterisation
· Integrate seismic attributes, frequency decomposition and iso-proportional slicing to identify infill drilling and workover opportunities.
· Generate property maps and assess reservoir heterogeneity, supporting volumetric estimation (STOIIP/GIIP) for delineated areas.
· Correlate well logs across development and appraisal wells to refine reservoir architecture and connectivity understanding.
Operational Geology and Drilling Support
· Participate in subsurface support activities executed by HQ services or external contractors, ensuring deliverables meet asset and project requirements.
· Maintain and update geological datasets for drilled and planned wells, including formation tops, marker correlations and structural framework.
· Prepare well initiation requests (SORs) and support drilling follow-up activities including real-time monitoring and post-well evaluation. Stakeholder and JV Engagement
· Engage in internal technical discussions and consortium technical meetings, contributing geological interpretation and study outputs.
· Contribute to Peer Reviews and Peer Assists, representing the discipline in front of internal reviewers and external partners.
· Communicate technical findings clearly to the asset Subsurface Manager, project teams and the G&G Manager, escalating risks and opportunities as appropriate.
