Purpose of Role:

  • Define and oversee the strategic planning processes within the Kan department, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and operational efficiency.
  • Manage the integration of planning activities with other functions to enhance collaborative efforts and operational effectiveness, serving as a key liaison to ensure project timelines and resource allocations are optimally managed.
  • Drive the adherence to regulatory and compliance frameworks, ensuring that all planning activities uphold the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
  • Contribute to the refinement and execution of departmental strategies, leveraging detailed analytical insights to support decision-making processes.

 

Critical Responsibilities (MAE/MATTE/HSES*):

  • Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures.

 

Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.

 

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement planning strategies that align with the department's long-term goals.
  • Analyse operational performance data to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure that planning processes are integrated and support overall business objectives.
  • Facilitate the annual planning cycle, ensuring that all activities are aligned with corporate standards and timelines.

 

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the execution of planning activities, ensuring they are conducted within the established frameworks and timelines.
  • Monitor and report on the status of planning initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Implement best practices in planning methodologies to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of output.
  • Manage the resolution of any issues that arise during the planning processes, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

 

Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure that all planning activities are compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to planning activities to support audit processes and compliance checks.
  • Conduct regular reviews of planning processes to identify and mitigate any risks associated with non-compliance.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behaviour within the team.

 

Critical Skills*, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:

 

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in strategic planning and project management within the oil & gas sector.
  • Proficiency in using planning software and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable strategies.

 

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of driving cross-functional alignment and engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address planning challenges swiftly and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors, project teams, and functional leads to support collaborative planning delivery.

 

Professional Experience:

  • Extensive experience in strategic planning within a complex, multinational oil & gas environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale planning projects and achieving operational objectives.
  • Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver on strategic planning initiatives.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Master's degree in Project Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

 

Language:

  • English: Proficient (written and spoken).
  • Spanish: Intermediate or above.
