Purpose of Role:

  • Ensuring Harbour Energy Resource reporting standards and controls are adequately defined, followed, and evidenced in line with company & regulatory requirements
  • Acts as focal point for all Harbour Energy Resource reporting related audits in BU Mexico
  • Coordinate reporting/audits of the reserves and resources for internal, external and to the Mexican authorities. 

 

Critical Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures.

 

Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.

 

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:

Guidance/training or Resource estimation & reporting 

  • Provides guidance to asset technical teams and assurers on Resource reporting obligations & expectations
  • Advises VP Exploration and Subsurface on suitability and conformance of formal Resource estimates for reporting purposes
  • Co-ordinates Resource estimation training within Harbour Energy and ensure this is provided and attended in line with Harbour Energy’s Reserves & Resource Management Standard requirements 

Tracking & Forecasting Harbour Resources 

  • Tracks Reserves & Resources changes within the Harbour Energy portfolio, including additions & removals from the portfolio, project classification changes, and revisions to Resource estimates; and records the basis for any such change
  • Forecasts expected company level Resource changes within Harbour Energy  based on project maturation plans, indicated changes to estimates, and any other information as may impact expected future Resource bookings
  • Prepares regular updates for the Harbour Energy Leadership Team on company-level Resource tracking and forecasts 

 

Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc. :

Technical Skills

  • A degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geosciences or equivalent
  • Significant experience (more than 10 years) in petroleum engineering or petroleum production geology, with proven experience in charge of the estimation and evaluation of Reserves information
  • Broad understanding of core aspects of reservoir engineering e.g. field development, simulation, material balance, pressure transient analysis, fluid  properties, decline curve analysis, reserve evaluations 

Non-Technical Skills

  • Experience of presenting to senior management
  • Good communication skills
  • Comfortable being discrete with restricted information
  • Accountable and proactive  
  • Maintains a high level of integrity 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Master's degree in petroleum engineering preferred.

Language

  • English: Proficient (written and spoken).
  • Spanish: Intermediate or above.
