Purpose of Role:

  • Coordinate a team of specialist engineers, assuring the quality, consistency and timely execution of engineering activities performed by internal and contractor teams.
  • Ensure internal and external interfaces are correctly managed, including interfaces with other work packages and Third-Party Contractors.
  • Support the project team to meet objectives in terms of quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Assure application of relevant norms, local rules, company standards and international best practices for accident prevention, human protection, environmental impact reduction and energy efficiency.
  • Be a HSE role model towards others including the Contractors.  Raise awareness and align any gaps between Wintershall Dea’s expectations and contractor’s safety standard.

  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures.  

 

Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.

 

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:

  • Prepare or support preparation of engineering deliverables and technical documents in accordance with project specifications, company guidelines, applicable codes and engineering best practices.
  • Support to ensure that the project execution plan (PEP) is detailed and implemented within all relevant project activities.
  • Define technical scope of contracts and provide engineering support to fabrication/construction during execution phase.
  • Support the Stage Gate Process deliverables readiness.
  • Assist in cost and schedule inputs related to project/package engineering activities, supporting preparation of life of field sheet (LOFs).
  • Contribute to the management of change process in terms of engineering reviews and potential changes and variation order proposals.
  • Contribute to project risk workshops. Identify and follow up relevant risks and mitigating actions.
  • Support the alignment with Subsurface, Operations, HSE, Drilling & Wells, Quality, Regulatory and Commercial disciplines for proactive contribution to project success (delivery according to FDP).
  • Ensure the right quality on the deliverables from contractor technical documents. Reviews documents, comments and consolidate comments from other disciplines.
  • Travel to contractor and construction site as required for the project to ensure the timely delivery of the tasks and project timeline/milestone.
  • Attend design reviews and monitor Third Party Contractor engineering plan.
  • Train and mentor junior engineers involved in the Project Work Package.

 

Critical Skills*, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:

 

Technical Skills

  • Broad knowledge in project cost and activity duration estimation techniques and tools. Project Engineering, Plant Design, Process Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Machinery and Piping Engineering.
  • Advance knowledge in cost estimation tool in Questor software. Project Configuration, Contract Management post-award, Project Monitoring and Controlling including Change Management, Constructability, Construction Plan and Monitoring, Commissioning Plan and Monitoring, HSE Principles and Systems, Production Operations, Logistics, and Plant / Facilities Start-up and Handover.
  • Proficient working in project management tools e.g. PIMs. Upstream knowledge: Reservoir Management and Evaluation, Drilling and Well Completion Activities, and Installation Plan and Monitoring.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.
  • Expertise on local and international regulatory framework.

Professional Experience

  • Proven experience in coordinating engineering team in the Oil & Gas industry, upstream sector (minimum 10 years).
  • In depth familiarity with industry standards and certifications relevant to quality in the oil and gas sector.
  • Track record of engaging with regulatory bodies, contractors and internal stakeholders to uphold quality standards across the project lifecycle. Site inspection and interfacing with Third Party Contractors on technical and delivery issues.

 

Education

  • Engineering degree or equivalent (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or other according to type of project/project package responsibility).
  • Project Management master's degree or PMP certification (preferable).

 

Language

  • English: Proficient (written and spoken).
  • Spanish: Advanced (written and spoken).
