Purpose of Role:
Oversees the planning and delivery of integrated communications campaigns, including the development of robust messaging, targeting and measurement.
Lead reputation management activities for Harbour, including data-driven analysis, monitoring and measurement.
Lead continuous improvement of Harbour’s communications operations, focusing on how to optimise tools, processes, use of AI and data to improve the output of the team. 
Based in the external communications team at Harbour’s London headquarters, also joining the press office operation to support media engagement. 
Critical Responsibilities:
Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures
Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:
Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence :
- Develop and deliver integrated communications plans to support significant campaigns for Harbour around the world. 
- Lead the development of external messaging, audience segmentation, delivery and measurement for these key campaigns, working closely with other teams such as Investor Relations, Government
- Relations and internal communications.
- Lead the creation of communications materials to support specific company announcements and milestones (e.g. press releases, Q&A, speeches).
- Oversee insights-driven planning for external communications, using data, research and analysis to better inform the development of communications campaigns and strategy.
- Lead on reputation management and measurement, taking a data-based approach to identify and analyse, issues, risks and trends.
- Lead reputation audit and measurement activity, as well as benchmarking exercises against peers and industry. 
- Support the improvement of communications operations by identifying and implementing AI-driven processes and capabilities that can enhance the impact of communications activities and the output of the team.
- Work closely with the external channels and content lead, as well as the internal communications team to define success metrics for Harbour’s storytelling efforts and how best to report this to leadership. 
- Support media engagement opportunities, identifying ways to enhance Harbour’s profile in the media and by participating in Harbour’s 24/7 press office rota.
- May be required to take part in a Crisis Management Team (CMT) rota as the CMT comms adviser.
- Any other activities which the Company may reasonably require.
Critical Skills Qualifications Experience, etc.:
- Relevant degree or qualification in journalism.
- Strong background in building communications campaigns and plans, including being able to demonstrate how success was achieved against campaign objectives. 
- Experience in conducing reputation audits and carrying out benchmarking activities. 
- Experience in audience targeting, including segmentation and persona building. 
- Familiarity with digital analytics tools and how best to use them to assess communications effectiveness and support reporting.  
- Experience in using data and technology to solve communications challenges.
- Media relations experience, managing proactive media engagement as well as reactive issues management.
- Crisis communications experience, working for a high-profile organisation or industry, leading a response and advising senior executives. 
- Excellent writing skills and strong experience of producing content under pressure and in a corporate environment. 
- Capable of collaborating and influencing within a cross-functional team. 
- Ability to adapt and be flexible to changing situations.
