Purpose of the role:
- Key member of the M&A team in the execution of acquisitions and divestments, project and process management, strategic considerations and modelling
- Play a proactive role in framing and undertaking analysis and liaising across the business to deliver robust corporate level strategic initiatives for decision at leadership and board levels
- Manage and lead on production of commercially sound, accurate, repeatable, and fit-for-purpose analysis with clear presentation of conclusions
MAE*/MATTE* and HSE* Critical Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSEQ procedures
- Be aware of the policies and procedures and to advise economics team and broader business accordingly
Ethics and compliance Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence Level:
- Lead analysis on identification and screening of M&A opportunities on a global basis
- Conduct evaluation of M&A opportunities including valuation, cash flow modelling and financing
- Frame and undertake the preparation of various board and other senior level strategic decision-making materials
- Work closely with project managers on tasks associated with M&A project execution
- Ad hoc analysis and evaluation in support of strategy with particular focus on business development activities and mergers, acquisitions and divestments
- Any other reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager
Critical Skills* Qualifications Experience, etc.:
- Degree educated (finance/economics, technical or MBA)
- Experience of structuring and delivering solutions and working under their own direction
- Extensive experience of M&A execution, strategy, energy analytics
- Expert user of Microsoft Office suite and other industry standard information systems
- Business/technical background with knowledge of and experience in modelling tools used in the oil and gas industry
- Ability to develop solutions to complex issues and formulate solutions
- Significant understanding of UK & international fiscal law and accounting principles relevant to oil & gas
- Commercially aware with good understanding of economic evaluation
- Strong team player with the ability to work closely with other disciplines for integrated evaluations in all areas
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Timely and high-quality delivery
- Strong focus on detail and ability to start and finish tasks independently
- Proactive, problem solver
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
