Purpose of Role:
- Responsible for managing specific M&A projects and transactions within Harbour Energy
- This role will involve overseeing the day-to-day execution of M&A projects, including due diligence, negotiation support, documentation, and integration planning
- The M&A Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with strategic objectives
Critical Responsibilities (MAE/MATTE/HSES*):
Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures.
Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:
Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:
- Accountable for the execution of specific M&A projects and transactions from initiation to completion
- Coordinate due diligence efforts, including financial, legal, operational, and commercial aspects
- Support negotiation activities, including deal structuring, pricing, and terms negotiation
- Prepare and review transaction documents, including letters of intent, purchase agreements, and other legal documents
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets for M&A projects
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with M&A transactions, escalating issues as needed
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies throughout the project lifecycle
- Support post-merger integration activities as needed
Critical Skills*, Qualifications, Experience, etc.:
- Experience in BD within M&A, with a proven track record of delivery
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of M&A processes, legal frameworks, and financial analysis techniques
