Purpose of Role:
- Oversee the external channels and content strategy for Harbour Energy, helping to shape Harbour’s external profile.
- Create, curate and deliver high quality content, finding impactful ways to bring Harbour’s brand and company strategy to life.
- Manage Harbour’s external channels, including the website and the company’s social media presence, using data and insights to improve our ability to engage with audiences.
- Based in the external communications team at Harbour’s headquarters in London but required to collaborate closely with the internal communications team and business units around the world.
Critical Responsibilities:
Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES Procedures
Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities:
Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required.
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence :
- Develop and implement a content strategy that leverages Harbour’s external communications channels to drive engagement and help deliver impactful messaging to key audiences.
- As part of this strategy, develop ways to measure the effectiveness of Harbour’s channels and content and share these insights with key internal stakeholders.
- 
Manage Harbour’s corporate website, including the website agency and budget. Ensure that the website is kept up to date and continuously improved. 
- 
Lead Habour’s social media strategy and collaborate with a variety of teams to deliver engaging social content to promote Harbour and its employees. 
- 
Lead on the creation of external digital assets (e.g. video, photography, infographics) working closely with other members of the corporate communications team. 
- 
Primary brand adviser to the business, helping to ensure that Harbour’s brand is consistently represented to the external world. 
- 
Responsible for advising the business on how to improve engagement with Harbour’s channels, proactively understanding and proposing ways the business could take advantage of latest trends and technology. 
- 
Draft content for the Leadership Team and other leaders for digital external channels (e.g. creating film, blogs, opinion pieces). 
- 
Provide support during an incident, updating channels and publishing content as required. This may require working out of hours and at weekends from time to time. 
- 
Any other activities which the Company may reasonably require. 
Critical Skills Qualifications Experience, etc.:
- Relevant degree or qualification in journalism.
- Strong background in creating content for social channels and websites in large global companies, preferably in a listed company.
- 
Excellent writer, with proven corporate experience drafting social media posts, opinion pieces, news articles, features and writing audio/visual scripts. 
- 
Proven experience of developing and executing successful social media campaigns to support a global company. 
- 
Experience in establishing metrics and forms of measurement to demonstrate the effectiveness of communications channels and content. 
- 
Experience with SEO/GEO strategies but with a keen interest in how evolving technology is shaping best practice and trends in audience engagement. 
- 
Proven experience working with communications teams and digital agencies. 
- 
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, with strong collaboration and influencing skills. 
- 
Strong financial/business acumen. 
- Ability to adapt and be flexible to changing situations.
