Lead Electrical Technician

Purpose of Role

·    Responsible for ensuring that all maintenance tasks near to and activities on key 
equipment are carried out in line with safety procedures and guidelines, in  compliance with legislation and Harbour Energy policies, processes and procedures. 
·    Lead and coordinate discipline activities to support safe and efficient operation of the
installation, ensuring compliance with the Asset Safety Case and delivery of asset  safety, production, environmental and operational goals. 

Critical Responsibilities

·    Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in compliance with regulatory  
requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy Health, Safety, Environment and 
Security procedures. 

·    Ensure the asset is operated and maintained in compliance with the Asset Safety 
Case. 
·    Direct and control all maintenance activities in compliance with Harbour Energy 
systems of work. 
·    Drive improvements in standards, safety and environmental performance and 
promote a strong safety culture. 
·    Set and uphold discipline standards and ensure that work is completed safely and to
the required quality. 
·    Develop robust relationships with peers onshore and offshore. 
·    Hold an emergency duty as required by the platform station bill.

Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with Harbour Energy’s Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required

Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence

ALL LEAD TECHNICIANS: 

·    Act as a member of the Asset Operations and Maintenance Team to ensure safe and 
reliable production in compliance with Harbour Energy policy, process, procedures  and Life Saving Rules. 
·    Control all Operations and Maintenance activities in accordance with Harbour Energy 
processes and procedures. 
·    Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all planned and corrective  
maintenance activities in compliance with legislation and Harbour Energy policy, 
process and procedures. 
·    Contribute towards safe systems of work – permit to work, isolations, work in  
confined spaces, control of inhibits, flange management (maintain records and 
systems in accordance with procedure). 
·    Identify and react to impairments related to safety-critical systems, developing robust
recovery plans and participating in relevant risk assessment and mitigation. 
·    Prepare and facilitate forthcoming work scopes, ensuring that materials, tools and 
enablers are identified and available for execution. 

·    Actively supervise safety and environmental-critical activity using appropriate tools 
(Safety Observations, Field Verification, etc.). 
·    Coach and develop technicians and apprentices, ensuring ongoing competence and 
progression. 
·    As the trade Lead Technician, it is expected that you will hold REP status. 
·    Hold and maintain an additional discipline competence.  
·    Carry out any other reasonable duty as instructed by your manager.
ELECTRICAL  
·    Offshore Focal Point for control and operation of main and emergency power generation and electrical network operation and switching as well as interrogation of electrical protection relays after trips & routine testing.
·    Accountable electrical focal point, for any platform re-starts following a power loss.
·    Accountable for ensuring all electrical equipment located in hazardous areas have correct ‘ex’ rating for the correct hazardous zone and installed and maintained in accordance with Harbour strategy.
·    Responsible for the identification and reporting of any electrical plant operating outside normal parameters.
·    Responsible for ensuring that all tasks on electrical equipment are carried out in line 
with the Electrical Safety Rules. 
·    Acting as Responsible Electrical Person (REP)  
·    Acting as Electrical content Permit Authoriser within P-Vision ensuring that all tasks 
with an electrical content are reviewed, adequately assessed and comply with Electrical Codes of Practice and Control of Work procedures. 
·    Supervise and verify the safe execution of electrical maintenance and repair activities
in accordance with the maintenance plan. 

Critical Skills* Qualifications Experience, etc.:

• Proven offshore experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry, ideally within multi-discipline maintenance or operations teams.

• Competent in the safe and efficient execution of operations and maintenance activities in accordance with company procedures and control of work systems.

• Sound understanding of isolation standards, permit to work, risk assessment and safe systems of work.

• Capable of providing cover for the applicable department Supervisor as required, and of maintaining the appropriate level of discipline authority or certification (e.g., REP, Mechanical Isolation Authority, or Control Room Operator MOME certification).

• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to coach, mentor and develop technicians and apprentices across multiple disciplines.

• Demonstrates sound judgement, problem-solving ability and initiative to deliver safe, efficient and cost-effective solutions.

• Proficient in the use of maintenance management and permit systems (for example, Maximo, P-Vision or equivalent).

• Able to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures and technical documentation relevant to the discipline.

• Effective collaboration and teamwork skills; able to work constructively across disciplines and with vendors, contractors and onshore support teams.
